I make high end digital images, principally with an Arca Swiss technical camera (full perspective control), Schneider Digitar lenses and a Leaf Aptus back. This combination provides the highest quality, yielding images of wide tonality and subtle colour transition, suitable for fine reproduction or enlargement. If appropriate, image plane movements offer format flexibility via seamless stitching. I also employ the Leaf Aptus back on a Hasselblad camera. Small format capability is provided by a Leica M 8. I shoot raw/DNG formats for both commissioned and personal work.
I maintain a colour managed system, using Leaf Capture or Capture One to obtain 16 bit TIFF files. Photoshop is employed for retouching although I try to minimise any post processing, preferring a camera correct image. Clients receive 8 bit RGB TIFF format master files, minimally sharpened for variable end use. Native file sizes at this 8 bit specification are c. 60 MB from the Leaf Aptus and c. 30 MB from the Leica.
